What is Combin?
Combin is a desktop automation tool for Instagram that helps users manage follow-unfollow activity, comment filtering, and audience analytics. I have reviewed over 70 Instagram growth services and ranked every one on my Instagram growth service grades page. Combin is more honest than most. It presents itself as a tool rather than a growth service that magically delivers followers.
But honest or not, it is third-party automation software, and Instagram has been banning accounts for using exactly this type of tool for years.
How does Combin work?
You download Combin, connect your Instagram account, set up your targeting criteria, and let the software automate your follow-unfollow activity. The tool identifies accounts in your niche and follows them on your behalf, hoping for follow-backs. You manage the whole process yourself.
The problem is that Instagram can detect automated behavior patterns. When an account follows and unfollows at rates and intervals that humans cannot sustain, Instagram flags it. The result ranges from temporary action blocks to permanent account restrictions.
The problems with Combin
Third-Party Automation Violates ToS
Combin automates interactions with your Instagram account using software. Instagram explicitly prohibits third-party apps from automating account actions. Using Combin puts your account at risk of restriction or permanent ban.
You Do All the Work
Combin is a tool, not a managed service. You still have to set up targeting, manage follow lists, and run the software yourself. There is no dedicated assistant, no strategy, and no human managing your growth.
No Content Support
Combin does nothing to help with your content. Growth on Instagram is fundamentally tied to content quality, and a tool that only automates follow-unfollow actions leaves that problem entirely unsolved.

The core difference
With Ascend Viral a dedicated personal growth assistant manually works your account for up to four hours every day. Real human activity on a real phone. Instagram cannot flag it because it is not automation. It is a real person doing the work properly.
Combin automates the process and puts your account at risk in the process. Ascend Viral handles the same outreach activity with a real person, eliminating the detection risk entirely.
The verdict
One and a half stars. Combin gets credit for being a tool rather than a fake follower panel, for niche-based targeting, and for having a free version. But automating Instagram interactions with third-party software is still against the rules.
If you want the follow-unfollow strategy to work for you, use a real person to do it. Automation tools like Combin cut corners in a way that Instagram actively punishes. The risk is not worth the savings.
