What are credits, and what uses them?
Credits pay for chat answers, Discover searches and opening new Reels. Each chat answer uses some, based on how much work it took. A new search or a newly opened Reel costs 5 credits. Browsing Daily Inspiration, Discover for your own niche, Saved and creator pages doesn’t use any.

What uses credits
- Chat answers. A bigger job, like deep research, uses more.
- Ascend watching a Reel it hasn’t studied yet, when you ask about it.
- A new Discover search, or opening a new Reel: 5 credits each. Repeating the search or reopening the Reel within 7 days is free.
Daily Inspiration, Discover for your own niche, scrolling in Scroll Mode and creator pages don’t use credits. Neither do filters, sorting or more matches on a search you’ve already run, Reels you open from Saved, from your DMs or from a chat answer, or the Growth Plan’s own AI guide.
If you stop an answer, or it fails, you’re not charged.
How many you get
- Free: 100 credits, one time.
- 5-day trial: 500 credits, one time.
- Solo: 1,000 credits a week.
- Growth: 5,000 credits a week.
- Viral: 15,000 credits a week.
When they reset
Paid plan credits reset every 7 days, counted from the day your plan started. They don’t roll over.
Trial credits last for the trial. Free credits stay until you use them.
What happens when I run out?
The chat, new Discover searches and new Reels pause until your next weekly reset, a plan change, or a top-up. Your chats and everything you saved stay.
On a paid plan, you can buy prepaid credits in Settings, under Membership, then Prepaid Balance. Packs go from $20 to $100. Each dollar buys 50 credits.
Your weekly credits are always used first. Prepaid credits roll over and never expire while your subscription is active. They aren’t available during the trial.
